I think in the long run, it’s probably cheaper to just pay someone else to mo w the lawn instead of having kids. But you’ve already got the kids so you might as well put them to work.

Yup.  Factor in the cost of food alone, and paying the neighborhood kid $40 would have been way cheaper.
